Wholebody Focusing (WBF) is an experiential practice of inviting our whole body to become an active, engaged, expressive participant in the Focusing process. It is based on the fundamental notion of bodily intelligence, i.e. that the living body has an innate wisdom and spirit, a vital life-energy that flows naturally in the direction of healing and wholeness.
In WBF, we invite the body to awaken, to come alive—allowing its own energy, movement, and feeling qualities to emerge effortlessly and spontaneously into awareness. The body process then begins its own self-directed unfolding toward more aliveness, more awareness and deeper, fuller embodied felt experiencing. We gain direct experience of the fundamental tool of Grounded Presence- the wholebody-in-environment as a solid, supportive, larger container for the new life-energy that arises. It is through this growing capacity for containment- holding what comes with caring, welcoming acceptance, and with active permission to come more to life- that the body-wisdom unfolds itself. The alchemy of WBF happens within the safety and support of our shared embodied presence.
This program offers a unique opportunity to learn WBF in an online class format. The seminar series will provide specific training in WBF, along with experiential practices to enable you to tap into your body’s aliveness and dynamic intelligence. We will undertake a journey through the living body, reconnecting with lost parts of ourselves, and with other feelings and energies that help restore wholeness and recover access to our body’s innate vitality and spirit.
If you are new to WBF, this program will provide a comprehensive introduction, enabling you to practice WBF on your own and in focusing partnerships. If you have had previous experience and training in WBF, these seminars will bring fresh, new perspectives to your practice – and an opportunity to deepen and expand your WBF experience.
We will be learning of the role of Focuser and of Companion in a WBF process as we explore the five spaces of bodily awareness, including the importance of the shared relational field. It is the co-presence with each other that truly awakens and unfold our deeper felt connections with the body, with each other, and with the life-energy of spirit. Format of Online Series
Each module consists of four 2-hour classes. Seminars will be held via Zoom, enabling us to meet in a group room as well as having small breakout rooms. Everyone will be sent a link to the Zoom room, which will remain the same for all events in this program.
Classes will include WBF attunements, presenting and demonstrating the main elements and themes, live WBF demonstration with participants, experiential practice in small groups, and sharing of experiences.
Participants will receive a recording of each class as well as a lengthy written handout for each module. There will be opportunities to practice what we are learning in online circles, in WBF partnerships outside of class, and (by special arrangement) in individual WBF sessions with Glenn. The developing sense of community will be further enhanced with an online forum where you may ask questions and share experiences of WBF.
